Writing as a tool to encourage love

As an educator and healer, Dr, Silvia Casabianca learned to use writing to encourage others to believe in themselves, break restrictive patterns, and develop their potential for compassion.

Dr. Casabianca first book (Si el Arco Falla, la Flecha no volará, 1997) about the conundrums of adolescence was published with the support of the Youth Unit from the Major’s office in Cartagena, Colombia. Since 1982, she has been a reporter, an editor and a publisher of community newspapers and magazines both in Colombia and the United States. She was a regular contributor to various publications in Southwest Florida and online publications like VOXXI. She has also self-published poetry and essay books on health, cultural competence, and Reiki, and published her own community newspaper (Tiempos de Sol) in Southwest Florida. Her book El Fin de la Enfermedad was published by ObStare in Spain (2009)

For almost two decades now, her research has focused on empathy and compassion, particularly compassionate parenting (Heartminded Parenting). Her book Heartminded: Conscious Evolution from Fear to Solidarity invites readers to join this movement toward a more compassionate world.
